Experience

I am a former Chemistry professor and science nerd. Everything about science fascinates me, and I aim to bring that same wonderment to students struggling in this area. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2007 from the University of Kentucky. From there, I attended Georgia Tech, where, in 2010, I obtained my Master of Science in Chemistry. Upon graduating, I entered directly into a career at Gordon State College. I was a Chemistry professor and the youngest member of the faculty, might I add, for three and a half years. Students wanted to be in my classes. They thought me to be goofy, in a fun and engaging way. My personality piqued their interest and helped bridge the gap between their minds and difficult scientific concepts. The method I used was to figure out what types of things the students were into and incorporate those things into the classroom. This was a very successful approach.I am also a qualified math instructor. I am knowledgeable in areas of Physics, Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus, among others. Of course, I have interests outside of academics. Comic book conventions are king, no surprise there! I am filled with child-like thrill whenever I see everyone all dressed up, as if it were Halloween. Other things I enjoy are watching football and college basketball, attending Broadway shows, bowling, and cooking.
